With summer less than a month away, we know you’ll be anxiously seeking treatments with little or no downtime! So with this in mind, we have compiled a list of top cosmetic treatments that will have you looking like your pre-quarantine self (or better!) in no time. When we resume our normal business hours again in June, we will have office hours at our Hyannis and Plymouth locations.
TETRA COOLPEEL
We are excited to introduce the addition of Tetra C02 CoolPeel, a new state-of-the-art skin resurfacing laser, to our Hyannis office. Cape & Islands Plastic Surgery is the only practice on the Cape & Islands to offer this innovative and noninvasive laser treatment that improves skin texture, minimizes pores, diminishes age spots, and reduces fine lines. The target audience is a wide range—from 30 to 60 years and older. The younger generation might be interested in minimizing pores; the person in their mid-40s may desire better skin tone and to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and those in the 60 and over group may be most interested in removing age spots.
The Lowdown on Downtime: Expect to be a little red after treatment, as if you have a sunburn, for a day or two, but nothing should prevent you from returning to your normal daily activities. While traditional C02 laser methods require longer recovery time, CoolPeel’s new technology and three-stage process takes you to the same result without disrupting your life due to recovery time.
BOTOX
A BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is non-surgical procedure that helps to smooth deep, persistent lines between your eyebrows. It can also be used to treat the horizontal forehead lines and “crows feet” around the eyes. One treatment of BOTOX—a few tiny injections—takes about 10 minutes and patients can see results in two to seven days.
The Lowdown on Downtime: Most people return to normal routine after treatment. But don’t participate in any physical activities for at least 24 hours (to avoid bruising) and avoid lying down for four hours.
DERMAL FILLERS
Fillers can plump thin lips, enhance or fill in shallow areas, and fill in static wrinkles around the cheeks and mouth. Two of the top fillers are Juvéderm and Radiesse.
Juvéderm significantly improves fine lines and deep facial creases, draws moisture into the tissues, plumping them and smoothing out wrinkles. The results of Juvéderm injections can be seen right away. Juvéderm will not require a second procedure for nine to 12 months. After treatment, patients will immediately notice smoother, more contoured features and a more youthful appearance.
Radiesse improves the appearance of static lines and helps restore the depletion of facial volume that comes with age. Sunken areas will see a renewed contour and shape. In some cases, the results can last up to 24 months. Radiesse is great for eliminating dark hollows under the eyes, creating prominent cheekbones and providing contour to the jawline.
The Lowdown on Downtime: You can resume most activities right away, but it is generally recommended that you avoid intense physical activity for the first 24 to 48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising.
COOLSCULPTING
This popular body contouring procedure reduces pockets of fat in trouble spots, such as the abdomen, under the chin, arms, bra fat and under the buttocks by gently freezing fat cells. The procedure—which works well for patients who are already in good shape but struggle with areas of stubborn fat—lasts for about 35 minutes. After a few weeks, you will begin to see results with the final appearance revealed around three months. Cape & Islands Plastic Surgery is the only practice offering DualSculpting on Cape Cod, which allows two areas to be treated at once.
The Lowdown on Downtime: You will be able to return to your normal daily routine immediately after the procedure. It is common for the treated area to feel bloated and to look swollen for the first three weeks after CoolSculpting.

PROFOUND

The Lowdown on Downtime: Most people who have a Profound treatment are back to their normal routine in 24 hours. Some swelling and bruising may occur after treatment. Some people may also experience some tenderness at the areas of injection.
