Everything You Need To Know About Morpheus8 Skin Tightening

Morpheus8 is a popular skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment that combines two non-surgical technologies. By utilizing both fractional radiofrequency (RF) and microneedling, this treatment can help patients tighten skin and decrease the signs of aging by stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen. Cape & Islands Plastic Surgery provides Morpheus8 at our Plymouth and Hyannis locations. We frequently recommend this treatment for patients interested in handling signs of aging or in conjunction with other treatments. Many patients who have loose or sagging skin, especially after losing weight, are great candidates for Morpheus8 treatments. Our team also uses the newer modality for Morpheus8, known as Morpheus8 Burst. Keep reading to learn more about this procedure, or contact us to schedule a consultation with our team.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment. Many of the skin issues that are linked to aging have a common culprit: a lack of natural collagen production. When skin gets damaged, the body uses collagen, elastin, and other proteins to stimulate the production of healthy skin tissue to replace the damaged tissue. As we age, we decrease our natural collagen production, leading to looser skin that is more likely to wrinkle and sag. Morpheus8 does superficial damage to the skin by delivering fractional Radiofrequency energy beneath the topmost layers of the skin. This superficial damage encourages the body to undergo its natural healing process.

Typically, the treatment begins with a topical numbing cream to help prevent discomfort during the treatment. The device is then glided over the skin so the micro-needles can deliver the RF energy. Heat from the radiofrequency causes the skin to produce collagen and elastin, which help the skin heal.

What Does Morpheus8 Treat?

Skin Tightening: Morpheus8 can help patients tighten loose skin around the face, body, and neck. For patients who have lost weight and have loose skin, especially around the face, this treatment can help tighten skin and improve their overall appearance.

Scars & Other Blemishes: Morpheus8 is also a great treatment option for patients who have specific blemishes like acne scarring, rosacea, or sun-damaged skin.  Morpheus8 stimulates the body’s natural healing response and can help decrease the visibility of blemishes.

Stretch Marks & Fat Contouring: While Morpheus8 is not strictly a fat removal treatment, it can help tighten and contour, especially around the neck and chin. Likewise, it can help patients decrease the visibility of stretch marks around the body.

Signs of Aging: Morpheus8 also helps men and women decrease the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines. It can also smooth overall skin tone and texture, helping patients achieve a more youthful appearance.

Benefits of Morpheus8

Morpheus8 has many benefits. First and foremost, it is safe for all skin types and skin tones. It can also be used effectively throughout the face, neck, and body, so patients can use Morpheus8 to address stretch marks around the abdomen or fine lines and wrinkles around the face. Of course, another key benefit is that it is non-surgical. For patients who are not interested in more invasive treatments, Morpheus8 is a great alternative treatment.

What is Morpheus8 Burst?

Patients who are familiar with Morpheus8 may have heard of Morpheus8 Burst. This treatment uses bipolar RF and can be used to treat different levels/layers of the skin. By delivering RF energy deeper into the skin than Morpheus8, Morpheus8 Burst can help patients who are looking for more noticeable results.
